Merry Christmas 2007

Posted by AJ Huffman |

Christmas has come and gone. We had a great time with family and friends over the Christmas Holidays.

Saturday was spent with Amy's parents in Portland. Everyone went hunting while Amy's Dad and I prepared the catfish for supper. Drew got several neat toys such as a toy tool set, train set, and a toy shotgun (which he enjoyed the most).

We spent the night and went to church the next morning, then headed to Monticello to spend the afternoon with my family. Drew loves to play with his cousins and all four of them had a time at Mamaw's house. That evening we went to my parents house. Drew got some DVD's as well as drum set. We tried to leave the drum set at Nanny and Papaw's house, but they insisted that Drew take it home to practice.

Drew was all excited Christmas Eve, that afternoon we went and saw Alvin and the Chipmunks. When we got home, we baked cookies for Santa Clause. We wrote him a note and left him cookies and milk along a carrot for the reindeer. We read "The Night Before Christmas" and then made sure we talked about the real meaning of Christmas, and went to bed.

Drew woke up that morning like always, and headed straight to our bed. That is until Amy reminded him who came to visit us last night. I headed to get the video camera ready for his reaction. He was excited that Santa had eaten his cookies and milk, and that the reindeer had taken a bite or two of the carrot. Leading up to the big day if anyone had asked what Drew had wanted Santa to bring him for Christmas, he would say "A Christmas Cake". And you wouldn't believe what Santa brought him. His very own Christmas Cake, and I must say it was mighty tasty.
